Morocco’s COVID-19 Cases Hit 16-Week Low as Vaccination Efforts Continue

For the 10th consecutive week, Morocco’s epidemiological situation has improved significantly and could allow the kingdom to move into the green zone. Currently, the country is recording the lowest level of virus transmission, said Khalid Ait Taleb, Minister of Health and Social Protection, on Monday in Rabat.
Already four weeks of moderate virus transmission. Good news for Moroccans who are impatient and want to lead a normal life. Last week, the kingdom recorded the lowest infection rate known for 16 weeks.
The weekly number of infections has decreased, as has the number of deaths for nearly 13 weeks, Mr. Ait Taleb said in response to questions from parliamentary groups about the continuation of the national vaccination campaign. This was during a session devoted to oral questions in the House of Representatives.
As for the reproduction rate (R0) of Covid-19, it has reached 0.9. As of October 24, the total number of severe or critical cases treated was 327, and the occupancy rate of Covid-19 intensive care beds has dropped to 6.2%.
Regarding the transmission rate of the "Delta" variant, it continues its downward trend, although vigilance must be maintained, through the maintenance of preventive measures, the need to get vaccinated to avoid any potential complication in case of infection.
