Morocco Could Join Anti-Israel Coalition if Gaza Ground Invasion Escalates, Expert Warns
Faced with the eventuality of a large-scale Israeli ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, a major international reaction is looming, according to a former senior Pentagon adviser. Morocco could thus have an extreme reaction.
Douglas Macgregor, a former American colonel, fears the risk of an extended international coalition that could face Israel. He envisions a united front stretching from Indonesia to Morocco, mobilized in response to such a military offensive.
The situation on the ground continues to deteriorate, with intense clashes reported by Hamas between its fighters and the Israeli army. In response, Israel has intensified its operations, targeting 150 underground sites in northern Gaza, including tunnel networks and military installations. This escalation comes in an already tense context, marked by an extended military operation and strikes on a Hezbollah military installation in Lebanon, as confirmed by Israeli military sources.
The human toll is mounting, with the Palestinian authorities reporting more than 7,300 deaths and 18,000 injured in the Gaza Strip. For its part, Israel mourns 1,400 victims, mainly civilians, and more than 5,000 wounded.
