Morocco’s Coronavirus Cases Surge to 402 as Death Toll Reaches 25

The number of new confirmed cases in Morocco is now 402 after the identification, this Saturday, of 69 people tested positive for the coronavirus.
With the toll continuing to rise, the kingdom could soon cross the 1,000 case mark. During the same day, four new deaths were recorded, bringing the number of deaths in Morocco to 25 people against 12 cases of recovery.
For this day’s account, the Casablanca-Settat region remains the epicenter of the epidemic in Morocco with 117 cases. It is followed by the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region (72), Fès-Meknès (72), Marrakech-Safi (70), Tanger-Tétouan-El Hoceima (29), Souss-Massa (11), the Oriental (14), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (10), Darâa-Tafilelt (6) and Guelmim-Oud Noun (1). No cases of contamination have been detected so far in the regions of Laâyoune-Sakia-Hamra and Dakhla-Oud Eddahab.
The ministry calls on citizens to respect the rules of hygiene and health safety as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility and patriotism.
