Morocco’s Construction Boom: World Cup, CAN 2025 Drive $14 Billion Investment

In Morocco, the construction and public works (BTP) sector and the construction materials sector should benefit from the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup and other urban development projects.
The players in the sector, such as architects, engineering firms, civil engineering companies and cement factories, will be the first to benefit from these opportunities, says L’Économiste, stressing that various urban development projects, worth several billion dirhams, have already been launched in all regions of Morocco. In total, more than 140 billion dirhams will be mobilized by 2025 as part of the implementation of these projects, it is added.
"At the origin of this renewed optimism, the combination of several factors: ambitious urban redevelopment programs, tramway projects, TGV projects, ports and airports, the construction of desalination plants, water highways, roads and highways, engineering structures, the reconstruction of the Haouz... There is also the housing acquisition assistance scheme that is starting this year, with the launch of several housing programs in all regions, including in the rural world," develops the economic daily.
And to add: "Morocco is on the eve of hosting the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025). This announces the construction of many sports facilities and complexes, the upgrading of several football stadiums with the development of capacities, road connectivity, accommodation, transport, leisure, entertainment..." The BTP and construction materials sector contributes 6% to GDP and employs 10% of the active population.
