Morocco Considers Vaccine Mandate for Civil Servants: No 3rd Dose, No Pay
The government could sanction civil servants who have not yet updated their vaccination pass. A ban on the workplace followed by a salary deduction would be considered to compel them to take the 3rd dose of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine.
According to the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, Morocco could make it mandatory for all civil servants to justify a 3rd dose of the anti-Covid vaccine, as a sine qua non condition for accessing their workplace. And in this case, any civil servant will be considered absent, and the days not worked will be deducted from his salary, the newspaper reports.
The newspaper recalls that this measure is already being applied to the Ministry of Digital Transition and Public Administration Reform. This department has imposed the vaccination pass on all its civil servants, at the risk of being considered in a "situation of abandonment of post, with all the legal consequences".
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, is said to have supported this decision, ordering the census of all civil servants who are not up to date and doing everything to convince them of the need to comply with this health measure.
