Morocco Considers Permanent Switch to GMT Time Zone, Government Says

The issue of the definitive change in legal time, the subject of a strong controversy in Morocco, is under examination within the government, assured the government spokesman.
When questioned on the issue during the press briefing held after the government council, Mustapha Baitas said that Morocco is examining the possibility of changing time zone and switching to GMT time. It is under study within the government, he said, adding that "when it is possible, the government will go in this direction".
"I can understand that there are difficulties in families, but this issue must be studied in its entirety. Of course, the government is thinking about it and it is a subject that is being discussed within the government," he reassured.
