Morocco Considers Maritime Patrol Aircraft Purchase for Royal Navy

Morocco is considering acquiring two MPA (Maritime Patrol Aircraft) for the benefit of the Royal Navy. Several companies are vying to supply these vehicles which will be used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, search and rescue.
Morocco could acquire the Leonardo ATR 72MPA or the Airbus C295 MPAe, according to Defensa, specifying that the process of evaluating the offers will continue over the next few months based on the costs proposed by each manufacturer and the advantages of the vehicles.

In addition to these European candidates, Morocco will also evaluate the American proposal, the Boeing P-8 Poseidon. But the very high cost of its acquisition and operation could lead the kingdom to no longer consider this offer. The Lockheed Martin SC 130J Sea Hercules could also be the subject of study.
Engaged for a few years in a policy of expanding its maritime economic space, and determined to explore oil and mineral resources in the Atlantic waters, Morocco is investing more in strengthening its maritime defense systems.
