Morocco Considers Lifting Drone Import Ban Amid Business Pressure

The parliamentary group of the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) has just questioned the government on the ban on the import of drones decided since 2015. According to them, this measure penalizes Moroccan companies that use these devices for their activities.
In a written question to the government, the PPS deputies denounced the inter-ministerial order signed by the Ministers of the Interior and Foreign Trade in 2015 to ban the import of drones, with the exception of certain companies or public administrations.

This decision penalizes Moroccan companies, explain the representatives of the opposition party, noting that only two companies out of fifty have been authorized in recent years to import drones.
The other companies, to whom the measure has been notified, have had to suffer serious damage, finding themselves unable to fulfill their commitments. Such a situation threatens the survival of the activities of these companies, they point out.
