Morocco Considers 24-Hour Curfew for Eid al-Fitr to Curb COVID-19 Spread

Given the epidemiological situation in Morocco, the government could be led to strengthen health measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
Preventive measures should be taken by the government to ban gatherings during the celebration of the end of the month of Ramadan, reports Al Akhbar, which informs that the curfew should be extended to 24 hours during Eid al-Fitr and for three days in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The health authorities fear that the gains made in the fight against the pandemic may be wiped out by the non-compliance of Moroccans with health measures during these holiday periods.
Last year, the celebration of Eid al-Adha led Morocco to a second wave, with many gatherings organized on the occasion.
