Morocco Condemns Israeli Ultranationalists’ Intrusion into Al-Aqsa Mosque During Jerusalem Flag March

The Moroccan government has strongly condemned the intrusion of Israeli ultranationalists into the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This incursion is part of their participation in the controversial Jerusalem Flag March, celebrating the Israeli takeover of the eastern part of the city in 1967.
A source from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these "repeated acts" as a "flagrant violation of the legal and historical status of the Holy City in accordance with international legality."
For Morocco, these incidents constitute an "unacceptable provocation that undermines efforts to establish serenity in the occupied Palestinian territories and negatively affects the chances of peace in the region."
These events are taking place in a context of extreme tension, with several thousand Israeli security forces deployed in the city. The Islamic movement Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Palestinian militias in Gaza have threatened to launch rockets towards Israel again if the protesters cross the "red line".
