Morocco Condemns French Muhammad Caricatures, Citing Religious Respect

The continued publication of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad in France outrages Morocco. The Kingdom has condemned, on Sunday, these acts which demonstrate "the immaturity of their authors".
In a statement signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government recalls that "the freedom of some ends where the freedom and beliefs of others begin".
According to the same statement, freedom of expression should not tolerate "insulting provocation and injurious offense to the Muslim religion which has more than two billion believers in the world".
The Kingdom has also condemned all attacks carried out in the name of Islam. "The Kingdom of Morocco, like other Arab and Muslim countries, calls for an end to fanning resentment and to show discernment and respect for otherness, as a prerequisite for peaceful coexistence and serene and salutary dialogue between religions".
