Morocco Coach Halilhodzic Stands Firm on Ziyech’s National Team Exclusion

The tension between Vahid Halilhodzic and Hakim Ziyech is still as strong despite attempts to smooth out the differences between the two men. The coach is categorical and no longer wants Ziyech in the national team, while the Chelsea midfielder has indicated that he will only return to the national team if the coach leaves.
Neither of the two parties in conflict is leaving room for mediation. According to the daily Assabah, the coach does not want to call up Ziyech for the double confrontation against Guinea Bissau scheduled for October 6 and 10 and counting for the 3rd and 4th rounds of qualification for the 2022 World Cup.
The feud between the two men began when the Franco-Bosnian technician, to justify the non-convocation of Hakim Ziyech, had declared that he had lacked seriousness and involvement during the last gatherings. An attitude that Vahid could not digest, denouncing the trivialization of the national team.
Some media had indicated that the boss of the FRMF had promised to reconcile the two men, but according to Assabah, this is no longer on the agenda. Fouzi Lekjaa does not want to question Vahid’s technical and human choices in order not to disrupt the preparation of the selection for the next deadlines.
