Morocco Closes Mosques for Eid Al Fitr Prayer Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases

A few days before the Eid Al Fitr holiday, COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Morocco. To "preserve the health of citizens," the kingdom’s mosques will be closed during Ramadan.
Not surprisingly, the Supreme Council announced in a press release on Wednesday that each believer will perform the prayer at home, reports the MAP. The prayer will then be performed that day taking into account the rites of purification, embellishment and takbir before the prayer, in order to avoid contagion and the risks of virus spread.
Four days before the entry into force of the state of health emergency on March 20, 2020, mosques and places of worship had been closed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Note that the latest official report shows 7,133 confirmed cases, 4,098 recovered people and 194 deaths due to COVID-19.
