Morocco Charters Flights to Rescue Stranded Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia

Flights have been chartered by Moroccan authorities for the return of Moroccan pilgrims stranded in Saudi Arabia due to the withdrawal of the Saudi airline that was supposed to bring them back to Morocco.
Following the instructions of Moroccan authorities who collaborated with their Saudi counterparts, the airline Flynas operated the first flight from Jeddah airport to Rabat-Salé airport; additional flights are expected to arrive during the evening at different airports in the kingdom, according to professional sources.
Moroccan pilgrims had been stranded for several days at Jeddah airport. The victims of this incident expect a full investigation to be opened into the circumstances of the concerned airline’s withdrawal, with the prosecution of anyone found to be at fault. They insist on the need to prohibit other airlines, which do not have the necessary operational means or a sufficient number of aircraft, from organizing future flights, in order to preserve passengers’ rights and respect the commitments made with the various parties involved, the same sources add.
