Morocco to Celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday on October 29, 2020

Eid Al Mawlid Annabawi or the celebration commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad, is set for Thursday, October 29, 2020, according to the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
In a statement, the supervisory ministry recalled that the sighting of the crescent moon of the month of Rabi-I of the year 1442 of the Hijri calendar was confirmed on the evening of Saturday, 29 Safar 1442 of the Hijri calendar corresponding to October 17, 2020.
The Auspicious Eid Al Mawlid Annabawi is celebrated in Morocco since 1881 (1292 of the Hijri) by religious vigils organized in mosques and religious brotherhoods (Zaouiya). It is commemorated on the twelfth day of the third month of the Muslim year.
