Morocco’s Cannabis Farmers Propose Reforms to Development Commission

The cannabis growers recently received a visit from a delegation of the Special Commission on the Development Model, led by its president Chakib Benmoussa.
Ouezzane, Bab Berred, Chaouen. At each stage of the visit, the president of the Special Commission on the Development Model, Chakib Benmoussa and his delegation, exchanged with the cannabis growers, reports Al Massae. The latter told them that they live only from the cultivation and sale in the raw state of kif.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, their spokespersons made a proposal to the members of the Special Commission on the Development Model. They wish that the new model clearly proposes the legalization of cannabis cultivation in the northern region of Morocco, or prohibits it once and for all, provided that it offers them an alternative that must be a reliable and sustainable source of income capable of improving the precarious living conditions of the inhabitants of the region.
After hearing their grievances, Chakib Benmoussa explained to them that the role of his commission is limited to observing, listening, reflecting and giving opinions to the decision-makers who will ultimately be responsible for finding the ideal solutions to all the problems that arise across the country, including that of kif cultivation.
