Morocco Cancels Romanian Senate President’s Visit Over Jerusalem Embassy Move

The President of the Romanian Senate has just been uninvited to Morocco, even though his visit was scheduled from March 27 to 31. The reason is Romania’s decision to install its embassy in Israel in Jerusalem, instead of Tel Aviv.
Sputnik News specifies that "according to a statement issued by the Royal Palace", the cancellation of this visit by the President of the Romanian Senate, Calin Popescu Tariceanu, would have been decided "in solidarity with Al-Quds (Jerusalem)". And indeed, Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila has just followed in the footsteps of Uncle Sam and announced the transfer of the Romanian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
The President of the Romanian Senate was going to meet the presidents of the two chambers of the Moroccan parliament as well as the head of government and the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was to come at the head of a delegation of senators and the heads of the Romania-Morocco parliamentary friendship group. But this visit has been "postponed" to be "rescheduled for a later period", we can hear from the Romanian side (in a statement issued by the Senate), this "at the request of the Moroccan party".
On this subject, Sputnik News enlightens us: "However, the Romanian party does not give any details about the reasons that led Morocco to request the cancellation of the visit, for which the President of the Senate had already booked his plane ticket, notes the television channel B1".
It should be noted that the Kingdom of Morocco is not the only one to have regretted this Romanian decision to transfer the embassy to Jerusalem. King Abdullah II of Jordan has canceled an official visit scheduled in Romania with the aim of signing several agreements in various fields. The latter is currently in Morocco. And his visit to Romania was scheduled for last Monday...
