Morocco Cancels Pan-African Activist Kemi Seba’s University Talk Amid Controversy

The conference that the Pan-Africanist Kemi Seba was to lead at Mohamed V University in Rabat has been canceled. In a video posted on his Instagram account, the Beninese activist disapproved of and condemned this cancellation, which according to his words, occurred under pressure from the authorities.
No official reason has so far been given to explain this cancellation. For his part, Kemi Seba believes that the motive is simple and remains linked to the recent visit to Morocco of Benny Gantz, the Israeli Minister of Defense. A visit during which several security agreements were signed.
For the activist, "it is obvious that we cannot conclude a pact with such a powerful colonialist entity and at the same time receive an anti-colonialist, the most audible, the most disturbing."
