Morocco Cancels Algerian Singer’s Concert Over Polisario Support

Contrary to expectations, the concert of Cheb Adjel scheduled yesterday, Thursday, February 9, was canceled due to the Algerian artist’s support for the Polisario.
While he was supposed to perform at the Punjab Tourist Complex (Aïn Diab, Casablanca) on Thursday, Algerian singer Cheb Adjel saw his concert canceled at the last minute due to his support for the Polisario. The announcement of this cultural event had sparked many reactions on social networks. "An insult to the Moroccan soldiers stationed in the Sahara," had indignantly posted MoorishMovement in a tweet.
In 2019, while he was on an artistic tour in Morocco, Cheb Adjel had found himself at the center of a controversy because of a sequence from a previous concert in Spain where the performer of "clandestin moul el megane" had expressed his support for the Polisario.
