Morocco Blocks Algerian Singer’s Concert Over Alleged Anti-Morocco Stance

Cheba Chinou, an Algerian singer, was unable to perform in concert on Sunday in one of the cafes on the Place du 16 Novembre in the Hivernage district of Marrakech.
The security services, accompanied by the local authorities, went to the cafe to prohibit the holding of the concert, report sources to Kech24, specifying that the managers of the establishment had not obtained the necessary authorizations to organize such an event.
Also, the concert of the Algerian singer was prohibited due to her repeated hostile positions towards Morocco. Many Moroccan Internet users had moreover called for the prohibition of this concert and asked the authorities to take their responsibilities.
Last year, two Algerian singers had also been banned from performing in Morocco. On February 9, the singer Cheb Adjel saw his concert canceled at the last minute due to his support for the Polisario. Then on September 7, the concert of Warda alias "Charlomanti" was canceled due to her statements undermining the "Moroccan values, the sacred symbols of the nation and its integrity".
