Morocco Call Center Workers Face Trial for Alleged Phone Sex Operation

The first hearing concerning 51 employees of two separate call centers prosecuted, among other things, for incitement to debauchery, will take place on May 6. They will be tried in Meknes, where the hosts and hostesses "worked".
In this case, the employees of the two call centers in the Ismaili capital are being prosecuted on various charges, according to Al Ahdath Al Maghribiya. In addition to incitement to debauchery, via telephone, WhatsApp, and SMS, they are also accused of fraud, operating call centers without authorization, and hacking telephone lines.
The hosts and hostesses tried to give the (long) conversations they had with "clients" (mainly from Arab countries) sexual connotations, in order to be able to extend the duration of the calls, especially since they were hacked and overcharged.
The searches led to the seizure of many computer tools: computers, tools for international communication transfers, and devices for calls. It should be noted that there are also three minors among the prosecuted persons.
