Morocco Busts Illegal Lab Selling Fake Covid-19 Test Certificates

A network of fake Covid-19 test trafficking has been dismantled in an unauthorized laboratory in Sidi Kacem. Several people have been arrested and placed in pre-trial detention.
In total, more than 1,200 fictitious certificates have been issued in exchange for amounts ranging from 600 to 1,000 DH by this illegal laboratory, reports Assabah. The case came to light when the reputation of the laboratory went beyond the borders of Sidi Kacem. Several people, including travelers, students and executives, were traveling from neighboring cities to obtain this certificate issued without any blood sampling.
Alerted, the local authorities filed a complaint and the judicial police sent a policewoman who used a false cover to obtain the illegal certificate. Once denounced, the suspects, namely the doctor owner of the laboratory, her husband and a technician, were arrested and taken into custody before being brought to justice.
Prosecuted for forgery of medical certificates containing erroneous data, fraud, endangering the health of citizens and operating a laboratory without authorization, they will soon be informed of their fate as soon as their trial opens.
