Morocco to Build F-16 Parts Factory, Boosting Domestic Defense Industry

Morocco has announced the creation of a manufacturing and assembly plant for parts of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, one of the most important fighter jets in its fleet. The project is part of the military cooperation between Rabat and Washington.
Parts of the F-16 fighter jet will be manufactured and assembled in a state-of-the-art factory to be set up in the Midparc industrial zone in Nouaceur, near Casablanca, reports the Moroccan press.
This project represents "a significant transformation in the field of military technology, as it will provide the Kingdom with modern technologies, thus contributing to the development of the local aeronautical industry," it is specified.
The establishment of this factory will also create job opportunities "in the fields of engineering and aeronautical maintenance, and stimulate the local economy by strengthening the defense industries sector."
The F-16 fighter is one of the most widely used combat aircraft in the world, particularly the modern F-16V Viper version, which has advanced weapons systems and a high-resolution radar.
