Morocco’s Budget Deficit Soars to 32.3 Billion Dirhams in September 2019

The budget deficit recorded a sharp increase at the end of September 2019, reaching 32.3 billion DH against 26.3 billion in 2018, according to data from the Treasury General of the Kingdom (TGR).
This deficit takes into account a positive balance of 4.1 billion DH provided by the Special Treasury Accounts (CST) and the Autonomously Managed State Services (SEGMA), the TGR specifies.
According to MAP, ordinary revenues amounted to 185.4 billion DH, compared to 172.9 billion DH in the same period of 2018, an increase of 7.2%.
On the other hand, expenditure issued under the General Budget increased by 13.5% to 257.1 BMDH at the end of September 2019. This is explained by the 8.1% increase in operating expenses, 4.8% in investment expenditure and 40.2% in budgeted debt charges.
Expenditure commitments, including those not subject to prior commitment approval, amounted to 376.1 BMDH, representing an overall commitment rate of 66% against 68% at the end of September 2018. The disbursement rate on commitments was 85%, the same rate as a year earlier.
