Morocco Braces for Scorpion Season as Summer Approaches, Health Ministry Takes Action

As summer approaches, the Ministry of Health is mobilizing to try to reduce the number of scorpion stings. The summer season is indeed marked by a sharp increase in cases.
The 2M channel went to the Kalât Sraghna region where it was able to interview a victim. The latter indicates that she was stung while she was with her classmates. "I was with classmates near our classroom when suddenly a scorpion stung me. The ambulance rushed me to the hospital."
Interviewed by 2m, the doctor describes the symptoms of a person stung by a scorpion. "When they arrive, the victims are unconscious and experience a drop in blood pressure accompanied by an irregular heartbeat."
The number of scorpion stings is estimated at around 25,000 per year in Morocco, mainly during the summer. It is recommended to avoid grassy and rocky areas and of course, in case of a sting, to go to the hospital very quickly.
