Morocco Boosts Firefighting Fleet with 3 New Canadair Aircraft Amid Rising Wildfire Threats

As part of strengthening its arsenal to deal with fires, Morocco has placed an order for three new Canadair aircraft, in addition to the 5 it already had. The additional aircraft are expected to be delivered before the end of the year.
This new acquisition will play a decisive role in the fight against fires, which are becoming more and more recurrent nationwide and worldwide. This summer, some regions of the Kingdom have faced a number of intense fires, resulting in extensive damage to forest areas, as well as material damage.
To deal with this, the authorities have mobilized "drones" to monitor the evolution of the fires, which has made it possible to target the affected areas to ensure efficiency in air and ground interventions.
The new acquisition of Canadairs aims to fight fires and strengthen the defense system, especially during the summer, due to the excessive heat experienced by the Kingdom. "The 3 Canadairs should be delivered this year," confirmed the Director General of the National Agency of Waters and Forests, Abderrahim Houmy.
