Morocco Boosts COVID Vaccination Drive with 650,000 New AstraZeneca Doses

Morocco received an additional 650,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Saturday, May 15, 2021. This will give a boost to the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus.
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) Dreamliners landed on Saturday, May 15 at 11 pm at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. The two aircraft had flown to Sweden where they loaded and transported 650,000 additional doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. After landing, this batch of vaccine was transported by refrigerated trucks from the SNTL to the services of the Autonomous Refrigeration Facility of Casablanca (RAFC).
With this new delivery, Morocco will correct the slowdown in its vaccination campaign against the coronavirus. As of May 15, 6,171,437 people have received the first dose. The number of people who have received both doses is 4,500,638. The vaccination campaign is now also targeting people aged between 45 and 50.
