Morocco Boosts COVID-19 Testing Capacity with South Korean Medical Equipment Purchase

Morocco will now be able to increase the frequency of coronavirus screening tests. New devices have arrived from South Korea, to the delight of healthcare workers who were complaining about the lack of this medical equipment.
100,000 sampling kits were brought back from South Korea by two RAM planes. It is the Moroccan ambassador to South Korea, Chafik Rachadi, who signed the purchase contract with the CEO of the South Korean company "Osang Health Care". 10,000 additional detectors were freely offered to Morocco, after the conclusion of the contract, in order to accompany the kingdom.
Morocco is investing sufficiently in the acquisition of medical equipment to fight the spread of the coronavirus. Before these South Korean equipment, Morocco had already transported thousands of tons of medical supplies from China. The Ministry of Health has decided to acquire these rapid covid-19 detection devices to "expand the health offer in remote areas and university hospitals, instead of relying only on the three reference laboratories available in Morocco".
These acquisitions cost the Ministry of Health two billion dirhams received from the pandemic management fund, on the instructions of the king. This equipment consists of 1,000 intensive care beds, 550 ventilators, 100,000 detection kits and X-ray machines, in addition to other equipment.
