Morocco Boosts Border Security with French-Made Tactical Drones

The Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie is now equipped with French tactical drones DT26 E, a video of which was recently shared by Far-Maroc on its Facebook page.
These drones, produced by the Toulouse-based company Delair, had been acquired in 2021 by Morocco.
The DT26 drone is used in security and defense missions, with a variant, the DT26E Tactical, used by the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie, the National Guard of Niger, and Croatia for border surveillance, reports the specialized site Air Cosmos.
With a wingspan of 3.3 meters and weighing 15 kg, the DT26 drone is capable of flights of nearly three hours at a speed of 57 km/h over a distance of up to 50 km. Launched by catapult, it is equipped with various sensors, including a gyro-stabilized HD EO/IR camera with x30 optical zoom, a LIDAR associated with a high-resolution photo sensor, and even an "IMSI catcher" to collect IMEI data from mobile phones in a given area. The collected information is transmitted in real time to the operators for rapid decision-making.
