Morocco Boosts Border Security with €2.4 Million Spanish Tech Deal

Morocco is working to further secure its borders. In this regard, it has obtained a contract worth 2.4 million euros from Spain.
In total, 200 night vision goggles and 190 thermal cameras are to be supplied to Morocco under this agreement. While the part of the contract relating to the thermal cameras proposed to the Moroccan company "Poly Services-Traduction, after the exclusion of a Bulgarian company and a joint venture due to the exceeding of the authorized price limit, is on the right track, that relating to the night vision goggles is encountering some difficulties, particularly the proposed prices which exceed the authorized maximum price, reports Hespress.
The supply of various types of equipment, including all-terrain vehicles, trucks and security devices for border control, which ultimately aim to prevent illegal crossings and collective border violations, is also planned as part of these contracts. The International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), born in 1997 under a different name: the Hispanic-American Foundation and chaired by the Vice President of the Spanish Government, and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice and Health, is behind these contracts, it is specified.
