Morocco Bolsters Search and Rescue Capabilities with Swiss Helicopter Acquisition

Five EC145 helicopters from the Swiss Air Rescue Guard (Rega) will soon land in the hands of the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie. The reception of these aircraft will take place this week. This acquisition aims to strengthen the capabilities of the Royal Gendarmerie.
A beautiful cooperation operation, but also a necessity for Morocco to have these helicopters. Indeed, according to Medias24, this operation is part of the strengthening of the capabilities of the Royal Gendarmerie in terms of intervention, search and rescue in isolated areas. To this end, the helicopters will be scattered throughout the national territory to strengthen the SAMU system.
Furthermore, these helicopters have 15 years of use by Rega, but underwent regular maintenance and can still serve for another 25 years.
The same source states that after this first step, the Royal Gendarmerie will receive three more rescue helicopters in the coming weeks. As for Switzerland, it will proceed to replace these aircraft with the Airbus Helicopters H145 model.
