Morocco Bolsters Naval Defense with $62 Million US Missile Purchase for F-16 Jets

The United States has just approved an order for 10 anti-ship missiles, of the AGM84L Harpoon Block II type, placed by the Royal Armed Forces of Morocco, worth $62 million.
According to the National Security Agency, the acquisition of these new missiles, intended for F-16 fighter jets, will allow Morocco to strengthen the capabilities of its naval forces and defend its sovereignty over its territorial waters.
Used by the armed forces of more than 30 countries in the world, the new developed version of the Harpoon missile will be easily handled by the services of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, the US agency said.
The Harpoon Block II+ is the latest version of the missile in service since 1970. It is equipped with a new GPS guidance kit and a data link allowing communication with the weapon in flight.
