Morocco Bolsters Naval Defense with US-Made Anti-Submarine Helicopters
The Royal Moroccan Navy will soon receive helicopters that will be used to effectively combat submarines. These are American Bell 412EP type aircraft.
These latest helicopters are equipped with anti-submarine missiles and will, according to Far-Maroc, be received by the Royal Navy in the coming months. Indeed, Far-Maroc writes: "the Royal Navy is preparing to receive, in the very near future, attack helicopters against submarines, of the Bell412EPI type".
The helicopters concerned would currently be in the process of being finalized in the USA, more precisely in Texas.
According to the site Le360: "Morocco is thus joining the select club of the few countries that possess this type of aircraft, which is highly prized by naval forces, such as Canada, Mexico and Indonesia. The need for this type of aircraft is such that Algeria currently has six Kilo-type submarines, acquired from its traditional arms suppliers, the Russians."
It should be noted that according to the manufacturer’s website, this type of aircraft can carry up to 14 crew members and is reliable even in extreme climates.
