Morocco’s "Blue City" Chefchaouen Becomes Instagram Sensation

Located in northern Morocco, two hours by car from Tangier, Chefchaouen is one of the trendy destinations whose landscapes are most represented on Instagram.
With its medina, its traditional architecture and its picturesque views of the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen, also called the "blue city" because of the bright blue facades of the walls, is one of the most represented destinations on Instagram.
The narrow streets are the charm of this city in the north of the kingdom, with a population of around 40,000 inhabitants. The Great Mosque (16th century), which has an octagonal tower built in the image of the Golden Tower of Seville, is one of the wonders of Chefchaouen, a city filled with cafes and restaurants offering traditional Moroccan dishes, and craft shops offering their products.
Visitors must not miss tasting the fresh goat cheese, called "Jben", traditionally made and sold by women. Apart from the well-known places in the city like Allée El Asri or Allée Bleue, tourists will also be fascinated by the beautiful Place el Houta which has a central fountain.
Visitors looking for peaceful places are also recommended to discover the Kasbah garden, or to enjoy a moment of quality at the Akchour waterfalls, a heavenly place.
