Morocco Begins Receiving Advanced Apache Combat Helicopters from US

Morocco is gradually receiving the 24 Apache AH-64 helicopters it had acquired from the American manufacturer Boeing as part of the US government’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program dedicated to the sale of defense products and military equipment abroad.
Morocco "is preparing to integrate 24 Apache AH-64E V6 combat helicopters, the first presumed images of which have just emerged," reports Barlamane, specifying that deliveries began this year. Deliveries will continue until mid-2026. The Khouribga military base is preparing to welcome the Apache squadrons by the end of the year and early 2025.
Designed for multi-purpose missions and offering improved capabilities, the Apache AH-64E helicopter is a model equipped with the latest communication, navigation, sensor, and armament systems, including laser-guided Hellfire missiles to destroy tanks, and a 30 mm cannon capable of firing 600 rounds per minute. It is one of the most powerful attack helicopters in the world.
In June 2020, a contract for the acquisition of 24 Apache AH-64 helicopters had been concluded between the American manufacturer Boeing and the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) as part of the US government’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program dedicated to the sale of defense products and military equipment abroad. The contract amount is $440 million.
