Morocco Bans Pro-Palestinian Protest in Rabat Amid COVID-19 Concerns

While the Moroccan Front for the Support of Palestine and against Normalization with Israel planned to organize a demonstration in support of the Palestinian cause this Tuesday in Rabat, it was met with the categorical refusal of the local authorities of the city.
The local authorities of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region have banned the demonstration that the Moroccan Front for the Support of Palestine and against Normalization was to organize this Tuesday, March 30 at 5 p.m. in front of the Parliament headquarters. In a statement, they recall that "any gathering or meeting on the public highway is strictly prohibited". This decision is part of the preventive measures taken by the government to curb the spread of Covid-19 and its variants.
The 45th anniversary of Land Day is celebrated this Tuesday. It is a day of commemoration for the Palestinian people marking the memory of the events of 1976, the Sakhnin massacre (about twenty kilometers north of Nazareth).
