Morocco’s Baccalaureate Pass Rate Soars to 65.55% in 2019, Girls Outperform Boys

The results of the Bac 2019, for all candidates enrolled in public and private education, were published on Sunday, June 23, 2019. 212,169 candidates were able to pass the written phase, for a national rate of 65.55%, against 57.36% in 2018, an increase of 8.19%.
The girls, as usual, outperformed the male gender, according to the press release from the Ministry of National Education. They are therefore 121,673 enrolled candidates to obtain the first university diploma, i.e. a success rate of 57.35%.
For this year, 109,187 candidates obtained their Baccalaureate with honors, i.e. 51.46% of the graduates. It should be noted that the Regional Academy of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, in the branch of Mathematical Sciences B - French Section, is in the lead, with an average of 19.40/20.
In terms of specialties, 141,464 students obtained the precious diploma in the technical and scientific branches, against 125,380 in the 2018 session, while the literary and original branches allowed 67,059, against 61,023, the previous year, to become graduates. As for the international branches of the Moroccan Baccalaureate, a success rate of 94% sanctioned this year’s session, with 23,671 graduates, against 17,325 graduates in the 2018 session.
Professional Baccalaureate candidates had luck on their side this year, with a success rate of 45.79% for 3,646 candidates, against 795 the previous year. Thanks to the exam adaptation procedures, candidates with disabilities were able to take up the challenge with a rate of 84%. As for the free candidates, they are 14,592 to have succeeded, i.e. 21.9%, against 24.92% the previous year. In addition, in the professional sectors, 36.32% of the free candidates obtained the Baccalaureate.
