Morocco Awaits Algeria’s Decision on Direct Flight for CHAN 2023 Team Travel

While awaiting Algeria’s response to its request, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has authorized the Lionceaux of the Atlas to join their respective clubs. The president of the FRMF had requested that the national team travel to Constantine, the host city of Morocco’s matches, via a direct flight from Rabat on a Royal Air Maroc (RAM) plane.
"The Federation has decided to authorize the players to join their respective clubs so that they do not remain hostages of an ambiguous situation, explains a source within the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) to Le360, assuring moreover that "no decision has been taken by" the body "regarding a possible boycott of the CHAN". "The reaction will be made in the light of Algeria’s response," affirms the same source.
In the event that Algiers responds favorably to the request of the governing body of Moroccan football, the Lionceaux of the Atlas, the defending champions, could join Algeria before the kick-off of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled from January 13 to February 4.
