Morocco’s Avocado Exports to EU Surge, Expected to Double by Season’s End

Morocco continues to flood the European market with its avocados. Between October and December 2024, the kingdom exported no less than 42,000 tons of this product to the EU. Figures that are likely to rise by April.
Moroccan avocado producers expect a considerable increase in export volume, which should reach nearly 90,000 tons during the 2024/2025 season. By next April, they hope to invade the European market with Moroccan avocados to have a good season, reports La Razon.
The figures achieved during the last quarter of the year (beginning of the season) are indicative of "the development this sector has experienced in Morocco and the contribution of exporters to offer productivity to foreign markets, particularly European ones," explains Abdullah Yalmahi, president of the Moroccan Avocado Association.
However, the selling price of the product has fallen compared to the previous season. A situation due to a drop in consumer demand.
