Morocco Authorizes Repatriation Flights for Citizens Stranded in Three Countries

Moroccans stranded abroad following Morocco’s suspension of flights to and from the kingdom can return to the country. The Moroccan authorities have just authorized repatriation flights from three countries.
The Moroccan authorities exceptionally authorize passenger flights to the Kingdom from the following 3 countries: Portugal, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, in order to allow the return to Morocco of Moroccan citizens who actually reside in the kingdom and who have recently left the national territory, indicates a press release from the Interministerial Committee for Monitoring Covid, specifying that this operation will begin on Wednesday, December 15.
The travel costs are borne by the beneficiaries, it is further specified. However, a health protocol will be applicable. Each passenger will have to present, before boarding, a PCR test of less than 48 hours; passengers will be confined for 7 days in dedicated hotels, at the expense of the Moroccan government; PCR tests will be carried out during the confinement period, every 48 hours and any person who tests positive at the airport or at the hotel will be taken care of by the competent health authorities.
