Morocco Assesses Low but Present Risk of Coronavirus Spread, Health Official Says

The probability is low that the Corona virus, which has been raging in China since mid-December, will be introduced in Morocco. But the risk does exist.
"The risk of introduction in Morocco is low, but not excluded; especially since there are direct air links between the two countries," Mohammed Youbi, director of epidemiology and disease control, told Assabah. He also said "that no checks on nationals of countries affected by the epidemic are planned for the time being".
However, Mohammed Youbi reassured that the Ministry of Health is able to cope with all eventualities because the necessary measures have already been taken. These measures are broken down into four axes. It is a question of watching and following everything that is happening in the world in order to assess the risk. It is also a matter of detecting any individual presenting respiratory symptoms. Then, if a case is confirmed, it is immediately taken care of in isolation. Finally, it is necessary to communicate with health professionals and the public in full transparency.
"Any self-respecting country must take measures and Morocco is no exception to this rule," hammered Mohammed Youbi.
