Morocco Arrests 50 Suspected Jihadists in Nationwide Anti-Terror Sweep

Around fifty individuals were arrested on Wednesday in Morocco during a major operation targeting suspected members of jihadist groups.
Among the people apprehended, 21 were placed in pre-trial detention under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, according to security sources.
These arrests took place during simultaneous operations in various cities of the country, targeting individuals suspected of having pledged allegiance to jihadist groups such as the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda. According to these same security sources, during the searches, bladed weapons, publications glorifying terrorism and documents on explosive manufacturing methods were seized.
Although Morocco has not been the victim of jihadist attacks in recent years, its security services regularly report operations against these groups in order to prevent potential attacks.
