Morocco Arrests 220,000 in Crime Crackdown, Including 12,000 Minors

220,000 individuals involved in criminal and violent acts were arrested by the security services during the first half of 2020 in Morocco. The point was made by the Minister of the Interior, Tuesday in Rabat.
According to the report made by Abdelouafi Laftit, 12,000 minors are among the people arrested. During the session, the minister stressed that the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie referred, during the same period, 36,000 individuals, including 1,721 minors, to justice. He also stressed that the fight against crime requires the involvement of the whole of society to face it, reports the MAP.
During his presentation, the minister also noted that social networks represent "one of the tools for the spread of insecurity and violence". They are sometimes channels that relay often unreal facts and events, argues the minister, who is pleased that the security services in Morocco constantly verify what is disseminated on social networks.
