Morocco Arrests 122 for Violating Coronavirus Lockdown in Salé

The provincial security services of Salé have, on Monday, March 23, arrested 113 adults and 9 minors. The latter have violated the confinement imposed by the Ministry of the Interior in order to fight against the progression of the coronavirus pandemic.
The persons concerned, arrested on public roads, did not have exceptional exit authorizations, while several among them were apprehended at late hours without any legal justification, despite the awareness and advice campaigns undertaken by the public authorities to consolidate the prevention and protection measures against the spread of the epidemic, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
The adult defendants were placed in custody. The minors, for their part, were placed under control, specifies the DGSN, ensuring that all isolation measures, both during the transfer, the deposit and during the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, have been respected.
These intense security operations that targeted all the neighborhoods of the city of Salé, Sala El Jadida, Laayaada, Bettana and Tabriquet, are part of the firm application of the measures of the state of health emergency aimed at ensuring the health security of all citizens and to curb the spread of the pandemic of the new coronavirus, it is further indicated.
