Morocco Approves Military Industrial Zones for Weapons Production

Morocco has just authorized the creation of two military industrial zones. This emerges from the Council of Ministers held on Saturday in Casablanca and chaired by King Mohammed VI.
These two zones will be dedicated to the development of investments related to defense and security, in particular the production of weapons and ammunition, indicates the Royal Cabinet in a press release, without giving any details on the start date of the construction of these platforms, nor on their geographical location.
The creation of military industrial zones is part of a broader strategy of Morocco aimed at strengthening its defense capabilities in a global context of security challenges, analyzes El Faro de Ceuta.
In his speech delivered on May 14 on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the creation of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), King Mohammed VI stressed the need for the kingdom to update its security and defense to effectively face emerging threats.
In this perspective, the monarch announced the strengthening of the capabilities of the FAR through the acquisition of modern military equipment, the adoption of a new military training program taking into account technological developments, in particular artificial intelligence.
