Morocco Approves Crowdfunding Law to Boost Business Financing and Prevent Fraud

The Council of Government has examined and approved draft law No. 15.18 relating to collaborative financing, before its transmission to Parliament at the next session.
The draft law intended to promote business financing is finally adopted. Known by the term Crowdfunding, it is a law that will bring many opportunities for access to new sources of financing.
By adopting this project, Morocco intends to put an end to certain unorthodox practices, in particular, the misappropriation of funds and fraud. Indeed, the legal framework of Crowdfunding makes it possible to counter these practices.
According to L’Economiste, the project also aims to strengthen the motivation of project leaders in terms of access to financial inclusion, to ensure support for economic and social development and the channeling of collective savings towards new opportunities.
Furthermore, administrators of collaborative financing platforms will pilot the three financing modalities of the project, namely lending, equity investment and donations.
