Confinement will indeed be eased in the coming days in Morocco. This is what the Minister of National Education, Saaid Amzazi, also government spokesperson, has just confirmed.
According to Saaid Amzazi, the conditions for the lifting will be progressive. For success, he urges citizens to further respect the confinement measures and the health and preventive conditions, reports la Map. A weekly evaluation of the local epidemiological situation, as well as the taking of the necessary measures for the relaxation of restrictions related to confinement or their tightening will be carried out by monitoring and follow-up committees, placed under the authority of the walis and governors.
To this end, it is necessary to reclassify the prefectures and provinces, promote greater relaxation of health confinement measures. There is also the lifting of restrictions on many services and activities such as domestic tourism, gatherings, the resumption under conditions of cultural and sports activities without forgetting the authorization of inter-regional and inter-city travel.
Regarding the relaxation areas, residents in zone 1 have been authorized, since last Thursday, to go out and move around within the territorial perimeter of the prefecture or province, and that of the region of residence without the obligation to have authorizations for this purpose. To do this, it is enough to present the electronic identity card. Likewise, citizens of this zone are also authorized to access public outdoor spaces and to resume individual outdoor sports activities.
For the relaxation zone 2 representing 87% of confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic, Amzazi affirms that it is still necessary to have an exceptional authorization of movement or exit in case of necessity day and night. He reminds that the opening of businesses has been extended until 8 p.m.
