Morocco Announces April 3 Start Date for Ramadan 2022

The month of fasting for Ramadan will begin on Sunday, April 3 in Morocco, the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs announced in a statement on Friday evening.
It is this Friday, the 29th of Sha’aban of the Hijri year 1443 (corresponding to April 1, 2022), that the nadirs and delegates of Islamic Affairs throughout the kingdom as well as the units of the Royal Armed Forces associated with the observation, confirmed the non-observation of the crescent moon announcing the holy month of Ramadan.
This fasting period, which takes place each year during the ninth month of the Hijri calendar, lasts 29 to 30 days. The end of Ramadan is marked by Eid Al Fitr.
The majority of other Arab and European countries, on the other hand, must begin Ramadan tomorrow, Saturday, April 2, 2022.
