Morocco and Spain Dismantle ISIS Cell in Joint Counter-Terrorism Operation

As part of the joint efforts deployed in the fight against terrorism, the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance, in collaboration with the Spanish police, has succeeded in dismantling a terrorist cell belonging to the Islamic State.
According to a statement from the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), the arrest of the 4 individuals, aged 24 to 39, took place on Wednesday, December 4. Three members of the cell were operating from Ferkhana, near Nador, while their leader was in the suburbs of Madrid.
Imbued with extremist ideology, the 4 individuals had adopted propaganda campaigns glorifying the bloody acts of the Daesh organization, and in favor of reprisals for the assassination of its leader Abu Bakr El Baghdadi.
The operation, carried out in the wake of the terrorist threats hanging over the two countries, made it possible to seize material and electronic equipment, mobile phones, masks and manuscripts of an extremist nature.
