Morocco and Pakistan Conduct Joint Naval Exercise in Atlantic Ocean

The Moroccan frigate Allah Ben Abdellah participated on November 26 in a joint exercise with its Pakistani counterpart ALAMGIR 260 in the Atlantic Ocean.
These maneuvers were organized with the aim of improving interoperability and cooperation between the two navies, according to a joint press release, which states that they constitute a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to establish cooperation with "friendly" navies around the world.
According to the note, "naval diplomacy in the form of visits and goodwill exercises remains at the center of the activities planned throughout the year." This is evidenced by the renewed cooperation activities observed in recent years between the two countries.
For the record, the two countries organized a joint two-week counterterrorism training event in Pakistan last October. Further back, in 2017, Morocco participated in a joint multinational exercise held in Karachi, Pakistan.
